  • A concrete kitchen

    I love a good kitchen. It's probably the room I find easiest in a house to get right, not sure why. Answers on a postcard below…? Anyway, on moving in, I took the chicken's route and started with the kitchen as the first DIY project as it was the only one that I had some kind of vision for.
    When we moved in, it was far from a space that made me want to linger over a cuppa - I'm not a big fan of a beige/dark green combo. These pics were actually taken on our first flat viewing. Note the de rigueur use of a bright flower arrangement to sell it to us...
         
    So, as with most of my house projects, it got a re-vamp in grey and black. And a little demolition. 


    It's by far my favourite room of the house. There's food on hand, and coffee, and a nice view out the window. Aces. Oh, and it's got a lot of grey. Even better.
    Units are Ikea carcasses and painted plywood fronts, cheap as chips. Concrete worktop not quite so cheap, but I do love a bit of concrete...
